In June 2018, ESA kicked off the CCI project on Sea State as an Essential Climate Variable. The main objective of ‘Sea State CCI’ (https://climate.esa.int/en/projects/sea-state/) is to reprocess and analyze sea state parameters from satellite altimeter and radar imagery, complemented and validated with in situ data, in order to provide the first sea state Climate Data Record needed for climate research.
The Sea State CCI team is launching an extensive user requirements survey. This survey aims to identify current assets and shortcomings of the Sea State CCI products, so as to define priority areas for potential improvements and improve data delivery to the user community.
